Yeah I feel like something bigger is going on, that geopolitics is downstream of... But its hard to say more than just that. Trying to be as reductionist as possible, I'd say that the basic unit of economics is the family, and probably the basic unit of the nation state is organized crime families. The intermarrying of the ruling families fits with the organized crime premise because the state has only what it steals ; the state is fundamentally a structural form of organized crime. It might simply be just that, if I'm being strictly reductionist, which is admittedly boring.
Good on the Bulgarians for kicking out the Turkish army. Albanians, too, though I think that was a different conflict.

Each cultural region seems to share geographic similarities. The conventional view is that culture is downstream of geography, but what if its the opposite? What if the world conforms to some underlying collective attitude or disposition?
For me, its really hard to look at a map of Europe and see randomness. The map itself screams intentionality. Why have a random mountain range between Spain and France? I say 'random' because the mountains thrust up abruptly, with ocean hugging close on both ends, totally different from the mountain ranges in the Americas or Asia. Then gaze a little eastward, and the Alps appear unnatural as well. Then even further east, and the Caucasus mountains, looking as unnatural as you can imagine, with sea on either side and flat steppes to the north. Its as if the geography is determined to accommodate a specific flow of history. Even further weirdness in Europe is the fractal pattern of peninsulae. It's all peninsulas off of peninsulas.
Contrast this with Africa, which has a character of flatness. High elevation flatness. Very very few peninsulas, and the few mountains don't come in ranges.
Contrast both with east Asia, which exhibits again a fractal pattern, but its comprised larger and smaller karsts, where some karsts are so huge they make countries. I've personally also noticed a difference in light quality in my travels - I think more white light than in the Americas.
Now American geography seals the deal. It's peninsular in many places, but also the plant life is closely related to Europe's plant life. Its like its a product of the European mind looking for a new home, so things are similar, but washed out, like a watercolor painting, conceptually. North America even came packaged with people that represent the lost life that the European mind yearns for, but can't return to, an innocence lost.
Now, if you follow me, let's think of what part of each cultural/geographic unit would be the heart, possibly even the original world of the people from that unit - assuming reality has some psychic aspect, as I think both religion and quantum physics indicate.
The most peninsular part of Europe is Norway. Norway also is still the glacial climate, which must have had a huge impact on the development of European culture. Norway even has people still living an ancient tribal lifestyle, the Sami, representing lost innocence.
For Asia, it seems like the area from Vietnam to Fujian are the most "karsty," and I would argue that's where the original Chinese culture formed. I say I'd argue because geoplotics have mashed north and south China together, and they not the same.
Africa, candidates for the "most" African geography are both north and south of the middle jungly area - I'd bet the Sahara looked very similar to the Kalahari at the time we would consider the dawn of civilization, ~11k years ago.
I left out India, Arabia, and South America, because I just don't know enough about them. They each have a certain self-similarity, though, so I'd bet this thought works there too.
To summarize: IF the strictly materialist, Newtonian ontology is missing a vital element, such as consciousness, then perhaps these places were their own worlds once, separate fragments of the idea of the life story, which only mashed together into what we view as a planet after they went looking for each other.
Its probably wrong. But it's fun to try new ideas. Europe's geography really is weird, though.

My best stab at your ending questions are : I think the link between technology and consciousness are much deeper than the materialist assumption. Technology doesn't only come from ideas expressed in material form - they're an extension of our consciousness itself. I think the whole world, to some degree, in some way, is a product of our minds. The spooky action of quantum physics seems to support this.
IIRC the army that marched around Jericho had the ark with them. The ark did all sorts of cool things, but it seems like it was just a box made of wood (I want to say Cedar, but Acacia would make more sense) with some gold artwork on it. But the ark was a symbol, and everyone believed in its power or holiness, so in a way, it was technology. It was conscious intention stored up somehow like potential energy and it did work in the real world.
This fits with my theory about the Jews - that they were actually the entire priest class of Egypt. Or maybe the Levites were the priests themselves and the other tribes had something to do with organization. I have no support for this theory, and it could be formulated in a million ways, but that's just how it seems to me. They claimed they were in bondage in Egypt - "slave" is used, but that wasn't like slavery in the US was. In Egypt a slave paid 20℅ of their product to their master, but was otherwise mostly free. But a priest would equate worldly life with bondage, so it could have meant that, too. Now, if you look at the "King's chamber" in the great pyramid at Giza, there's a broken stone box that archaeologists claim held a sarcophagus. But its too short. It looks to me like it would hold the ark perfectly. I'd really like to go measure it... Bucket list. When the Jews left Egypt, the pharaoh was determined to stop them. People moved around a lot - a lot more people were nomads back then. I doubt the pharaoh got pissy every time some nomads crossed his land. He seemed too upset in the story, like he was losing the most valuable thing he had, maybe the source of his legitimacy. That would be the priests, the magicians. "Moses" is a very Egyptian name, and he was a priest. So Moses was taking the magic out of Egypt. And we see that magic at Jericho. We also see it on the cross. "Christ" is also an Egyptian name. Most people think its Greek, and it is, but not originally. The word comes from the Egyptian initiation ritual. I don't know what it meant to them, but it was used after the initiate passed the stage where they see Osiris' mummy.
For me, these things actually strengthen my belief in Jesus Christ, even though they aren't taught in church.

I'd agree, if the Christian employee has a misunderstanding of what charity is. Its not necessarily selfless giving. In one sense, Christian charity means giving the benefit of the doubt and being civil, usually in conversation. And you can give away things and call it charity, but only if its not pity. And most importantly, selling things in a free exchange is also a form of charity - that's actually the easiest way to begin to see the unseen world. If its a free exchange, both sides would say they profited. The end result is a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Simply moving things around and getting paid for being a merchant is creating an increase in wellbeing in the world, so that's charity. The word got maligned after it got a legal meaning, which flattened it and made it a target.

I chose economics after a long period of taking classes with no plan, and eventually econ was the most interesting. I started off taking engineering classes, but I couldn't handle the professors. The work was fine... the professors made it unbearable. They were genuine autists. They felt pressured by the class sizes and the school telling them to flunk as many students as possible, because a high failure rate is the mark of a "good" engineering program. So there were surprise projects that I didn't budget for because they didn't tell anyone, and 1st day exams that affected the final grade, despite covering material that we were expecting to learn in that class, and when you go talk to the prof you find out that they are super frustrated and shit rolls downhill. It was mostly the unforeseen costs combined with the disrespect that made me leave that.
I'm making college seem like a bad experience, but it wasn't. It was great. I became me. I found my interests and partied enough to not need to party any more.
After leaving the engineering department, I took classes all over. I taught myself Korean and got the school to start a Korean class, even though I never took it. I got into a Russian class without having to pay for it, which I'm quite proud of, even though I forgot most of it. My favorite class, by far, was Linguistics 101. They teach you how to crack a language without a dictionary or anything. It doesn't always work, but the final exam was a paper with paragraphs in several languages, and we had to translate them. That was fascinating.
I'm explaining the linguistics stuff to get to economics. I saw it as a language. And it made me feel like I didn't waste all those math classes. My only goal was to understand things, and linguistics and economics both satisfied that. Unfortunately, econ also scratches the itch to be prideful, and it wasn't until recently that that got... fixed... Anyways, I still feel that econ is fundamentally a language. It's literally the language of value. It's quantified psychology. I can't believe they don't make econ students take psych classes... So I sometimes think, if (very big If) I ever do a graduate degree in econ, I'd try to merge Jungian archetypes and shadow with the first principles thinking of Austrian econ. I'd be labelled a crackpot for sure, but fuck it.
Fuck it is a great stopping point. But I guess an even better stopping point is, God is great and his grace is the most humbling thing in the world. I needed to say that after talking so much about myself.

Yeah, bitcoin definitely serves up a piece of humble pie... But that is the right message for people at a certain stage of life. I majored in econ in college, so I was sure I understood econ better than the people I was hearing about it from. The opportunity cost of my pride was in the ballpark of a few billion dollars - I had read the white paper and scoffed in 2009. I went around travelling instead.
Dying... Well, I didn't go to heaven. I was tortured. I didn't know it wasn't in this world. I was told quite a while later that I had died briefly, but I was already in a hospital so I guess they did their thing. The torturers appeared to be doctors, but the procedure was absurd and had nothing to do with my being there - they were drilling into my neck. This couldn't have been real because there was no reason to do that, and they would have had me under anesthesia if they did. And the time matches up. I thought it was real for a long time, and I couldn't compute it. Well, "real" has a complex meaning in this case.
Prior to that, I had only been kinda vaguely Christian, so more like a team player but without even enough understanding to claim to be Christian. And it still took years after that to start to take an interest. What really caused the change in me was seeing what China is like (good and bad, but mostly a pit of nihilism) and coming back to the US and seeing how much worse it got while I was gone, and hearing a few things Jesus said - knowing a tree by its fruits, and the truth will set you free. And then I took that vaccine, because I was still letting sin dictate my thinking - sin traps you in compromise. The way I see it is, its a wounded or diseased state of your spirit, where the wound specifically is a superimposition of ego, aggravated by ignorance. And this is why I formulate "faith" as knowledge * disciple (but I usually say motivation because its more positive). Anyways, after the vaccine, I got really sick. I couldn't breathe, got chest pains, blood pressure went up to heart attack zone, and my heart started doing weird things, like beating extremely slowly (caught it at 30 BPM on my finger device, which was after moving to put it on), or other times beating extremely fast for no reason. That's how I woke up this morning, btw. So one night, I was laying there absolutely convinced I was about to die, in pain, terrified out of my mind, and I prayed... And this is the part that feels really personal, so I'll skip to results - I started getting better. I still have problems, like the weirdness with my heart this morning, but that was the moment that things changed.
I don't even remember what I'm responding to. Thanks for reading my book, lol. Oh! I also wanted to say that there's an irony in seeing team Christians as hypocrites. You have to realize that if you claim to be a Christian, you're going to be a hypocrite, no matter how much you try to live up to it. I didn't know that was the name or the history. I've seen demonstrations on YouTube, lol. Yeah I found the urim thummim thing recently too, because I wanted to make sure I wasn't about to break some rules. And it looks like Christians really should be careful around divination stuff. The explanations seemed wrong, though - online stuff was saying it's somehow wrong to try to know the future, and I can't figure out why that would be the case - I think a better reason is that you could make it into an idol if you actually believe something mystical is going on. Ah. Well, God is infinite, so anything that can be said about him is a form of a violation of the totality of God, since a definition is a limitation. God can peel off a piece of himself, of any size, and not reduce the magnitude of his infinitude... because infinite is boundless, unending, a fractal and multidimensional cornucopia of grace.
When Muslims declare "god is one!" they are setting a limitation on him, which is blasphemy if your version of God is a punisher. Same for when Catholics say that God is a Trinity. The closest to truthful definition I've heard of God comes from Buddhists, because they assert nothingness. Nothingness is at least boundless. But the best definition of the Spirit I've heard was in the Dao de Jing, where is uses koans to pin the meaning between negations, and say "from the one came the three, from the three came the ten thousand things." The Aryans didn't assert the Jesus wasn't God. They just had a different understanding of what that means. The main issue between Arius and the Niceens was that the latter taught that Jesus is co-eternal with God, while Arius taught that God the Father created Jesus. This doesn't negate Jesus the Logos, the holy spirit of humanity and the world, there at the creation of man. Its just saying that this manifestation of God needn't have existed separately in any way from God at the "in the beginning" part of the story. Even describing it is really difficult and creates problems. Its like, if you have Christ in your heart, then you're part of Christ's body - well, that's a mangled way of saying you're part of God. You're a son of God, striving to live up to the ideal of The Son of God (paradoxically called the son of man), because a piece of God is adventuring through your story as you. And I think the Aryans disputed the sinlessness of Mary, which if true, would have compounded the church's hate for them.
So far, I really like Arius and his doctrine. I'm not committing to it, but its interesting. The early church actually had something like a crusade to the north to kill the Aryans, who had way more converts in the barabarians than the official church had. And the Orthodox still hates them! Its amazing.

I might've seen the same thing, with the sediments. I think it also asserted that oil was created in the flood. Idk, seems plausible of the flood happened that way. I had figured the flood was actually ice, since recent earth history has been varying degrees of glacial cover. Either way, there is certainly enough water on earth to flood the whole thing.
But I try to construct all this like "if... then" and contain all the arguments as postulations without committing to belief. One thing I do know is, there's no way to know everything, so nothing can ever truly be ruled out.

But everything could be symbolic. The flood could mean something like "the flood of stupid that debt based money creates" - not saying it means that for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. Well, I should back up and say that I think everything literally is symbolic - my hand in front of me is symbolic of intention or ability outside of space time reality.
I'd love to go colonize another planet. Sign me up, I want on the ship. But I also really like the idea of terraforming everything in this solar system - and that's probably millions of objects. First, we could build and orbital ring around the earth. If each segment is fitted so it makes a continuous ring all the way, the fuel cost of maintaining an orbit can be cancelled by every part pushing outward. And if that doesn't work, then we could move a big asteroid into a resonant orbit with the ring, at a higher orbit, and its decay will equal the decay that would otherwise be incurred by the ring. On such a ring, gravity would be so close to surface gravity that you wouldn't be able to notice the difference, even though you're in space - because its the ring balancing falling with velocity, and you're just on it. You could walk around like normal. We could do this with Venus too, and it should also be possible in orbit of the gas giants - you just have the ring at an altitude where you feel normal earth gravity.
For the gas giants, though, we'll need a solar lense to get enough light. The way I envision it, it will be several lenses working together to open apertures in the dyson swarm to focus light only on the rings we've built. 99% of the sun can be occluded by satellites using almost all visible light. They would probably use it to mine bitcoin. We'll need to lengthen the block interval time. I imagine trillions of people living in independent solar habitat states, and the inhabitants of the ring worlds just pay for them to adjust their orbit to let light focus on the ringworld. The focusing will allow us to expand to every large body orbiting the sun, even out in the Kuiper belt. Those icy bodies out there can melt and become oceans. Distance doesn't matter... At some point in the future.

If global foreign exchange swaps are $14 trillion USD, and bitcoin has a higher return than any other asset, then all carry trades will get sucked into bitcoin.
That means the real present value of bitcoin - the entire supply - is $14 trillion USD. Right now.
What I'm talking about is what just happened in Japan. A 15 basis point rate hike crashed markets. Don't be fooled by the financial propaganda - it was not a decision by the central bank or government. Yield and price move inversely. When investors have less confidence in the usefulness of a bond, the want less of that debt, so the demand goes down and the price of the debt also goes down. The yield is just the difference between what you pay and what you get. So investors lost confidence in the Japanese economy, for whatever reason, at a magnitude worth 15 basis points, before the seller of the debt (the central bank) could do something about it - and the only thing they could do is sell less debt, or reduce supply enough to match the reduction in demand. Your econ teacher was telling the truth : everything really is supply and demand.
Built atop this price/yield mechanic is the carry trade. Basically, rich people print free money by borrowing the "weak" currency (yen) and depositing in a bank with "strong" currency for fat yields, then pay back what they borrowed and keep the free cash. Of course there's all sorts of things you can buy, with varying ROIs. This is why banksters obsess over sharp curves and stuff like that - they want to see the whole field of risk vs return, so they can maximize their mansions with the free money that comes from borrowing in one currency and lending in another.
You can probably detect my opinion of this - I hate it. This is the world built on debt, and the beginning of the growing fiat induced insanity. An asset being a store of value has a new meaning when you get to print free money, and you get to print free money because you're already rich. And when you can do this, then you have a strong incentive to lobby for new regulations that either increase government debt or decrease the supply of things like houses.
Now... Bitcoin. We know it here. I'll say it anyways - the price does not reflect the true value. Just given the way the carry trade works, never mind the million other reasons, bitcoin *must* absorb all of the value in the carry trade. $14 trillion of foreign exchange swaps *that we know of. Because it costs nothing to keep, returns higher than anything, so borrowing in anything to buy bitcoin is a better play than any foreign exchange swap.
So what happens to the national currencies? As demand shifts from buying bonds to holding bitcoin, the shift away accelerates, and yields have to rise to entice investors again. And this *should* be a huge benefit to savers, as banks will be able to offer yield on savings again. At this point, any decent economist will have to start doing "on one hand x, on the other hand y" thing. Savings ~= investment, so increasing yields could cause an economic boom, which some governments could leverage to get out of debt. The countries that do this will be the superpowers of the future. But there's a point where the debt is so large, that any boom causes deflation, which causes the real value of debt to explode faster than increased taxes can pay. Rigid isn't necessarily bad. What matters is praxis and curriculum. I used to teach... Praxis should always be about getting kids to actually do real things ; curriculum is what topics the teacher or school decides will definitely be in the class. I made all my own curricula, developed my own praxis. But that was overseas... when I came back to the US, I hit a Wall of Stupid - basically "u got loicense for that?" And to get that license, you conform to bad praxis and teach curriculum handed to you by the state. That's the real problem.

Easier now than before bitcoin. The nation state has proved over and over that it is incapable of controlling its debt. The reason it can't control its debt is because elected assemblies are inherently corrupt. Legislatures attract the most corrupt people. What are they going to do when the population isnt using their fiat, so they can't use debt to steal from the people? They'll turn on each other. Doing direct voting obsoletes the nation state. There's no good reason for the vote of someone outside of your community to have any bearing on your community. Small communities will have to become fully sovereign - and I'm all for that. No more empires, no more capital cities.

I agree we need transparency, but there's no difference between big corp and government. We've had perfect transparency before, and they simply changed the laws and now its all clear as mud - so if we fix the democracy, it'll just happen again. IMO, we just need to abandon this idea of representative assemblies - its predatory on the public and the best thing that can be said about it is that its slow.

There's no balance between coercion and freedom. We've already found the best way to maximize human well being - property. If nobody is stealing from you, you can build and create value. A government should only ensure the inviolability of property, and instead of stealing from citizens to pay for its guarantee of safety, the citizens should volunteer in local government. That means if you vote, you better be in your neighborhood watch. Healthcare and retirement schemes are unnecessary if the money isn't debased, so those don't stand as a justification for taxes.

People are pushed into eating meat because the nutritional content of veggies is much lower than it was decades ago. Meat usually packs much more, enabling you to be healthier.
The lower relative price of meat is actually bad for business. Its driven by importing, and the effect is that small ranchers go out of business, and the remaining incorporated mega ranches use the worst practices - the worst for animal well-being and the worst for nutrition.
Both are caused by government. The government doesn't want regenerative agriculture, which would fix the nutrition crisis as well as restoring the environment, and they use preferential loans (part of interest paid by gov so the farmer pays less) to push farmers into growing certain things and in certain ways. The government wants farmers using pesticides and fertilizer because they are dual purpose technologies - if you can make fertilizers, you can make bombs ; if you can make pesticides, you can make chemical weapons.

Ehhh acronyms... I meant it when I said I'm a computer nincompoop. But it sounds like that pipelining of processes to cores (if I got that right) could actually be very useful if your operating system doesn't require or expect a specific kind of processor. You could have your distributed devices all using different processors and the OS is selecting which one is better for different tasks. Which, I guess could slow down the process too much to make it useful... unless it selects based on a diagnostic or pattern recognition. If that made no sense, that's because I'm exploring new abstract territory in this thought. I'm imagining the same OS running your sprinklers, sensing nutrients in your aquaponics, shifting unused compute to mining, keeping an eye on weather to plan battery/solar load, and being a cloud for games on tablets or something. All and anything, and completely under your control with no third party, built on devices simple enough to teach kids about. But... Mission creep again. First thing is get competent in some language so I at least have a chance.
