It's an odd mentality humans have. Of accusing people of things they know by definition they cannot ever be guilty of, because the person doing the accusing is categorically not the sort of person capable of fighting or defeating terrorists or murderers, or psychos, or rapists, or thieves, or any combo of those, and would literally never knowingly put themselves in that position.

It's a funny thing, that people probably don't notice how many COVID related deaths there are because most people are in no real way consciously aware of the sheer size of the human population. We're in no way mentally equipped to flesh out what 8 billion humans are, just as in the same way most of us can only claim to understand a tiny fraction of the worlds cultures, and fewer could even list more than 3% of our planets species.

I don't believe there will be a clear cut revolution, or fascist takeover, I think the USA will destabilise itself through regular domestic terrorism, feudalism, and regional collapses. Added to climate collapse this will be an ugly time when the US begins to feel what it's like to be a global south region under the influence of its empire, this is a nation that will fracture. States that go rogue are likely to self cannibalise.
It won't be a war, more a final stage of lost social cohesion.

People talk of civil war, but if it comes that won't be quick. I'd bet good money what you will see is a riding tide of domestic terrorism from multiple factions with widely varied beliefs over the next few years. Failed states will be incoming. Oligarchy encouraged much of it, but will ultimately be victims of it too.
The days of numerous groups specifically targeting the rich and influential are not so far away, and oligarchs will reduce their public profile.

Tbh I think that the days of the west having to blame other nations for terrorism will soon be over. Far right domestic terrorism is already more prevalent than most will admit, and the prevailing DNC sphere of existence, centre right neoliberalism, can make an enemy of everybody. They're criminalised much of protest and journalism, facilitated oligarchy beyond reason, and committed genocide with a deaf ear.
This is a recipe for domestic terrorism. A part of class war.
