This place was fine, and I'm happy with my mani/pedi, but I will try to stick with my usual nail salon in the future. I did end up hypnotized by the TV, which was streaming something called The Cooking Tree (I think) that was basically the Infinite Cakes Channel—just relentless silent videos of beautiful fancy cakes being baked and assembled by barely seen human beings. Mesmerizing, soothing, torturous: infinite cakes. 🫣🎂🎂🎂

Had occasion to pop into Marlene’s again and while I did succumb to the temptation to buy another Boho Bandeau I held firm and refrained from purchasing one of their gauzy hippie aunt dresses. I feel the tie-dye maxi dress of my dreams is waiting for me at a street fair or farmers’ market.
Proctor Arts Fest is more than a month away but maybe this is a test of my character. I must practice patience.
