Watched a few ep of Emergency! now and I have to say it’s kinda TV comfort food. Parts are hokey but other parts are super sincere and the leads are just well acted. Gage and DeSoto both are professionals w/ awesome bedside manners. They take pride in their job and their squad, it’s refreshing. 🚨
More fun things:
- Always checking the map before a run (No GPS!)
- Writing *everything* down (no tablets!)
- Have each other’s backs
- Rampart staff is a little stiff compared
- Animal rescues YAY!

Since I was on a retro TV kick I picked a random ep of the old Emergency! series and boy it was awesome! A two-part ep from S7 that was like a mini disaster flick where they have to rescue office workers from a raging inferno high rise. Really impressive for a TV show from the 70’s. Hundreds of extras, tons of physical burning sets, and high drama.
The S7 ep also had a very familiar, very YOUNG John DeLancie, better known to us as Q from #StarTrek TNG. Impressive, Mon capitan!

Just watched the 2 part ep of The Six Million Dollar Man - The Secret of Bigfoot and the 2 part ep of The Bionic Woman - Kill Oscar Goldman, the one that introduces the fembots. Needless to say both of these villains scared the bejezus out of me when I was a kid. 😱
Had all the toys though! I was also a member of the Steve Austin fan club. Had to send away and got a signed 8x10 glossy portrait of Lee Majors as Col Austin. 🤓😅👍

Yet another thing AI has ruined for all of us - Nostalgic fun.
I came across these cool, nostalgic pictures supposedly from the set of #StarTrek TOS classic episode City on the Edge of Forever.
I squealed w/joy because I’ve NEVER seen them before. The comments were filled with happy Trek fans but close scrutiny reveals they must be AI slop. The last pict is NOT Joan Collins plus other clues.
None of us can trust anything online anymore and it royally sucks.

Watched a couple episodes of the latest season of #Futurama and they were great. The writing on these two ep is much better than it has been since it begun on Hulu which is a relief. All caught up on #daredevilbornagain and I have to say it’s pretty damned good (so far). I really was expecting this new series to be all Disney-fied but it is not and thank god.
The best part? The superhero stuff is the icing, not the cake. It’s used as the punctuation at the end of well-written, dramatic sentences which is just perfect. I doubt that will hold as we move into the later half of the series but ep 2, 3 & 4 knew the assignment and pulled it off.
10/10 no notes.

The second ep of #daredevilbornagain was great. Much better than ep1, enjoyed it a lot. Also not sure how this show was shot but visually it looks distinctly gritty or less polished than most streaming fare which is suiting it being in NYC and all. The politics are still giving me pause however. Hitting a bit too close to Orange home in that regard.

The upcoming v1.1 update of #TapestryApp has a ton of great stuff but it also deals with the vexing problem of duplicate cross posts over multiple feeds.
To say I’m proud of @nprofile…8c6a for designing and implementing this amazing feature is a vast understatement. As far as I’m concerned it’s engineering voodoo.
From the beginning we knew cross posts would be a major problem for Tapestry and while not perfect, the new Crosstalk feature is just amazing. Stay tuned!

When I started on this week’s wallpaper of EPCOT Center’s Spaceship Earth, I knew it was going to be a challenge. Some walls come together in minutes or hours. This one took over 20 hours to complete. It was worth it though, I think it turned out really nice, esp the Home Screen variants.

@npub1ulm…hweg thx! I have no doubt what-so-ever that it is happening, my experience at Twitter & just every day real life is proof enough. It’s that I often can’t reconcile people who say it’s somehow worse here than it was on Twitter given the compartmentalized nature of the Fediverse. You have to *really* try hard to go looking for trouble here vs there.
Also, I follow a wide variety of people and found them, in general, to be friendly, helpful and very strong advocates for marginalized users.

I swear I must be using a different Mastodon than everyone else. Since I’ve been here I’ve only seen people be generally courteous and friendly to each other. The occasional times when someone has been mean, rude or thoughtless they usually apologize straight away.
Not only that but I’ve seen people go out of their way to help others understand how the service is different from others without being condescending.
It’s strange how vastly different one’s experiences can be on social media. 🤷‍♂️

Ask @npub1grd…km72 how much of a pain it was when it came time to create the drop shadows for icons in #WallaroApp. I insisted we not use black and it was a gigantic coding pain in the butt. So much better though. Esp since these icons are displayed against hundreds of differ wallpaper backgrounds. Gold Star for Sean though. He pulled it off.
