Idea: map of conferences
Some people track conferences they want to attend in calendars.
What if you could also explore a map to find interesting events nearby?
Markers would have a link, an icon and a label.
The link could point to a calendar entry in turn.
I bet that already exists somehow, but I don't see it much.
E.g. the Rust website could have that for all Rust conferences.
Or CCC for all the hacking community events in Germany.
DebConf, which moves around, to keep track of that history.

I think we're not far away from that.
LineageOS et al already show that building AOSP is generally feasible, though it does require at least 64GB of RAM, some terabyte(s) of storage and best lots of processing cores/threads (last time I checked the AOSP docs).
Plus, some vendor kernels are really messy; the Amlogic one for Android TV (in Google's own repos) had a few hundred #if AMLOGIC instances, even in mm/ when I checked about two years ago. 😅
Maybe upstream is complete enough now.

The labeling should not mislead you.
There may be such botnets and the devices are of horrible quality, but just hating on China is too easy. That's all I gotta say here.
As y'all know, I have taken apart and looked into hundreds of such gadgets, including cameras and TV boxes.

As easy as it is to hate on China, let's please recheck. They are behind their firewall that renders anything unusable or at least close to unusable that is connecting from outside to inside and vice versa.
Not that cheap TV boxes are to be expected high quality, that is.
