Do a prepaid boost yearly plan.

Which equates to $25 a month and 24gbs per month( but they last the whole year)
Best part is that boost is on the Telstra network because they are owned by Telstra.

If using just for general life management Linux mint it great, comes preinstalled with libreoffice and thunderbird (opensourse Mozilla email client that will likely be compatible with your email set up).
I manage all of my personal affairs with libreoffice. Works great.
A piece of advice, install on an older machine, or if buying a new machine don’t buy the latest and greatest. You will likely get hardware compatibility issues. It takes time for Linux drivers to catch up.
If you use Linux mint, install it on hardware that is say 2 years old, and you are reasonably good at using AI to troubleshoot, it should be a relatively easy to change over.

Honestly, getting BTC into as many people’s hands as possible should be the primary goal to BTC adoption (kyc free or not- although kyc free is preferred).
Once everyone has BTC then it is more likely to be used as a medium of exchange and once that happens, as soon as it changes hands once or twice it will by KYC free.

I decided to go back to the Church after a long time away mainly because I wanted my kids to grow up with the experience.
My wife and I looked around a couple of churches before going back, wanted one that was theologically based, small, and family oriented. We found one.
After a couple of months of going I told my wife yesterday that I am pretty sure I am becoming more religious. As in my faith is becoming stronger, I am considering getting baptised etc.
Just go regularly and see what happens. For us it was only positives.

I wonder if AI models could get accredited as doctors if they go through all the exams and then also get indemnity insurance and the ability to prescribe. I genuinely think that they could replace around 80% of what a GP does and that parts they replace actually do better.
Would be interesting to see if any country adopts this considering most have a doctor shortage

Not even a BTC thing, just a general savings and investment thing.
I have lots of friends same age, same type of work, same background, they have zero savings and investments and blame it on the unfair system but they can’t even get off zero.
I have literally sat down with a few of them and done a whole budget and investment plan etc, showed them how to set up automated transfer so investing is automatic, they get excited for a week and then do nothing.
It’s brutal to watch.

Yea, more or less. My broader point is that the KYC AML requirements from the government pretty much had negligible benefit and massive cost to the society. My secondary point is that we should treat BTC like cash. If i move cash around then the government does not get a record of it.
Could you elaborate your point? As in do you think that for example Patriot act KYC and AML laws are net beneficial ? If so I am very interested into why you think that ?

Yea that is the banks doing their due diligence on their clients, which is very different to them been forced to spy on your transactions and report them to the government.
As in the reason for KYC and AML laws (mot internal bank checks) are to stop terrorism and money laundering and my point is that those laws don’t stop terrorism or money laundering and cost society a great deal in actual cost and invasion of privacy.
BTC is a bearer asset as well like gold. In many places I can go buy gold without KYC why not BTC ?
Same with cash?

That’s not why KYC / AML weere brought in though.
It was brought in the vast majority of countries post 9/11 to stop terrorism although it hasn’t stopped any terrorists just given Gov more control.
In Australia the agency responsible for creating all the KYC / AML requirements is called AUSTRAC . They have a budget of $170,000,000. Last year all of the surveillance they were doing on every single consumer transaction resulted in 160 arrests. Things like tax schemes etc.
Costing the tax payer more than $1million to per person.
On top of that if you include the additional cost all the businesses need to incur to meet the KYC requirements plus the time of everyone filling in all these forms, that is estimated to be around $3,000,000,000 societal cost being the cost per caught criminal to $18.75 million.
All the while we are having record number of breaking and stabbings. Where violent criminals are much, much cheaper to arrest. Purely from a cost benefit it does not make sense to impose these and cost society 18 million per white collar criminal.
It also creates huge risk for data leaks. Because there is so much sensitive data capture there is going to be more data leaks, resulting in increase of scams and identify theft.
Then, there is also the fact that we are building the tools for tyranny and only need wrong government in place to really take advantage of the huge controls they have.
Just think of it this way. Digital payments only became prevalent in early 2000s before that it was all cash. No one was worried about kyc then 9/11 happened and now the government needs to know how much I spent on bread or sent to my brother.
Consumer protections is a whole different game, but you don’t need to kyc everyone’s money (which they have done) in order to achieve them. We didn’t with cash.

Okay here is the update she is now doing. She decided on the following to start with:
1. 600mg of Magnesium Glycinate Daily

3. Has an appointment with physiotherapist for deep neck flexor strengthening and stretches

My wife has had migraines for the last 15 years and gone to many, many doctors. Today I got Grok 4, Google Gemini 2.5 pro, Chat GPT o3 Pro deep research and PPQ deep research to individually determine effective non-pharmaceutical treatments. Then I got all of their results and got Grok 4 to summarise into a rank ordered table of efficacy.
0 of the top 15 have ever been recommended by the many, many doctors my wife went to see.
She is now picking few of the top ones and trying them out. Will give updates if anyone is interested.

I guess what I am saying is that it doesn’t actually need to change from its current state to be a currency.
Also if it is used as a currency then any of it that is traded is kyc free. Because person A purchases from exchange (kyc’d) then they purchase a service with it and the person who now has the sats is not kyc’d.

I have purchased to following things with lightning in the last week:
- no kyc AI using PPQ.ai
- no kyc vpn using Mullvad vpn
- a mail server using namecheap
At the moment seems like nimble privacy focused online services companies are at the forefront of adoption.
My guess is next will be small businesses who want to avoid taxes (the ones that give you a good discount for paying cash, you know the ones)
Others are ecommerce who want to avoid the massive stripe \ PayPal fees and avoid chargeback risk.
In each of these areas BTC lightning doesn’t off an on-par experience but actually a better one.
I used to be the BTC is digital Gold. Going through the process of actually using it as money made me realise that it can be used as money as Satoshi wanted.

Right now it is primarily a Gold replacement.
I mean I use it to purchase mail servers, domains, vpn, ai subscriptions but even for me vast majority of expenses are fiat. Depending on your political philosophy though, you could see it replace fiat and that be a good thing for privacy, self sovereignty and a general separation of money and state. It is a long way off but I would love to see it happen

Yea sure,
I have a client who tracks all of their equities investments in nocodb (portfolios, subfolios, shares, purchases, sales, dividends). Then I use N8N to get live share prices as well and dividend distribution announcements. From this you can create reasonably sophisticated powerBI reports showing live realised and unrealised gains etc for any point in time (ability to go back in time), a live IRR for a specific share, subfolio or portfolio, totals of dividends through time along with outstanding dividends etc etc.
Means that they essentially know their exact position not only live but in the past as well.
They are self hosting and the only paid part is the PowerBI licenses (for which there is no foss alternative that can do what we need it to)

As someone who has multiple paid AI subscriptions for work, genuinely interested, however why only access to mid tier open source models? Why not the full 671b parameter model ? I am guessing if I am using grok 4 they are not limiting to a 70b parameter model.

I actually think Synology NAS ‘s are insanely good value depending what you want to get out of it. In a lot of cases you can replace a bunch of SAAS subscriptions and it pays itself off in like 6 months (this is in my experience rolling out for companies)
Also the software that synology produced is ridiculously feature rich.
