You're not wrong Marty. Things over here are happening very fast now , and have accelerated over the last year. Every day brings some crazy new announcement from the govt on how they will further restrict freedoms, crash the economy or otherwise make our lives a living hell.
Some of these get walked back when there is enough pushback, some just go quiet, so it's an endless shell game of trying to figure out what is actually happening.
I've come to the conclusion that the people at the top are both stupid and malicious - they'll come out with some announcement like this, where their own cyber security people have come out and said that it's dangerous, but they just don't care.
The good news is that the govt is now incredibly unpopular on so many fronts, that I don't know how many people will buy their BS. However the OSA had broad uniparty support, so I don't see we can vote our way out of this, at least in the short term. IDK where the average normie here stands on this stuff - there's been a massive uptick in vpn usage, but what happens if that avenue is blocked? We've seen huge restrictions placed on Bitcoin usage here and no real pushback of note.
Dark times coming here, but maybe we're getting to the point where the public won't take much more. One way or another, things won't continue as they are for long...
