The fact that Flipper Devices is sharing updates about their Flipper One on X as their social channel, tells me everything I need to know about the fact that I'm not going to be engaging with them / it.
(I do have a Flipper Zero, but I rarely do much with it)

There was a story on VICE about games censorship on Steam caused by an Australian group called Collective Shout. It got taken down, but it was a pretty worrying story about payment processors, pressure groups, and censorship.
Have a read.

Walked to Post Office to post $things. Waited for 10 minutes in a very static line. Then postmaster announced that the whole system was down across the whole country, with an estimated time of service being anything from 10-15 minutes to tomorrow.

@nprofile…0tp5 *I* like the idea - because I like information, and I understand the value / meaning of domains... but I wonder whether it would add complexity and additional information while not really improving usability or value for people. So I'm on the fence about actually doing it!

2025-07-12 20:35:37 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…0tp5 that might be an interesting idea, and potentially possible as a background task when doing the link verification check. I'm not certain what it communicates to people looking for profiles though. I'd definitely need to be told what the dates mean, have hover tips or something, if I was looking at the list.

@nprofile…yzqf something like this https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/tootctl/#self-destruct where an instance broadcasts deletions to anyone who knows about it to get it out of remote caches.

2025-07-07 20:09:44 UTC

one thing to add here is that I wish Shuttlecraft and Postmarks had "self-destruct" capabilities so that my instances could send out notices to anything that federated with them to say they are not going to be there after tomorrow.
