nice. Happy to share my thoughts here as well:
On mobile, the composer does fill most of the screen – but on desktop, one positive thing we heard about the in-sidebar composer was that it's helpful to see the context of one's feed, or a thread. We wanted to preserve that.
In terms of what happens when you "trigger another composer": For 5.0 – no changed behavior, really. We don't have drafts yet, but we want to. I have some explorations for when we get there.

I don't believe the Fediverse is a homogeneous place, but there's a lot more we could do in terms of supporting global communities.
I particularly want to make space for people who identify as a member of the global majority, as we/you have been historically excluded from access to decision-making power in tech. Neurodivergent folks, users with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ family also strongly encouraged to join.

One hurdle here is localization & excessive character counts. How necessary is the explicit text 'You follow each other' – would it be sufficient to show 'Follows you' in all cases, including when you're following the person back? This considerably simplifies things and expands where we're able to display the badge.

You heard right – the new profile experience is now live on Mastodon.social and other participating servers, and will soon be available to all in Mastodon 4.6.
With it comes easier editing, simpler handle explainers, and much more.
