Nostr DMs sind prinzipiell immer verschlüsselt (auch NIP-04). Die erste Idee der DMs (NIP-04) hat, wie richtig beschrieben, signifikante Privatsphäre Probleme. Jeder kann sehr einfach sehen wer mit wem kommuniziert. Aber wichtig man kann nicht sehen WAS kommuniziert wurde. Wenn wirklich jemand NIP-04 lesen kann, würde das eigentlich nur eine von zwei Sachen sein:
- private keys wurden geleaked
- secp256k1 cryptography ist gebrochen (wird auch in Bitcoin genutzt), ich denke mal das hätten wir gemerkt
Ich würde mal schätzen, dass die Nuss einfach vom Sender selbst eingelöst wurde oder es keine DMs waren sondern ein wirklich öffentlicher Kanal.

I don't think this is any more so for silent payments than any wallet which is backed by electrum. Check out the light client work around BlindBit (built by me). Some of the stack in blindbit is nearing a public experimental stage. I have been using it for a while now

Alice will Bob 100k Sats schicken
Alice nutzt Joinmarket mit der Annahme, dass ihr Anonymitäts-Set dadurch größer wird
Alice ist also nun taker in einer Joinmarket TX und setzt ihren Output auf Bobs Adresse
Bob kann aber rausfinden welcher Input zu Alice gehört da man relativ leicht zurückrechnen kann wer der taker ist
Generelle plausible Annahme ist: Sender = Taker, da der taker auch die Outputs amounts festlegt
Weiter wird das Problem im verlinkten Bitcoin Talk Beitrag aufgerollt und ist auch hilfreich, um das Problem besser zu verstehen.
Generell, wenn Alice ihr Anonymitäts-Set vergrößern will, und mehrere Joinmarket Transaktionen anstößt - also als Taker auftritt - besteht ein ähnliches Problem wie oben beschrieben. Sogar eine dritte Partei die nicht Teil der Transaktion war, kann ähnlich wie Bob den Taker identifizieren.
Zusätzliche Annahmen:
Taker ist tendenziell (deutlich) öfter Taker als Maker
Maker ist tendenziell (deutlich) öfter Maker als Taker
Maker nutzt Output aus TX_1 als Input in TX_2 (wieder als Maker, siehe 2.)
Wenn ein Maker in TX_2 als Maker erkannt wird, ist er auch in TX_1 als Maker identifiziert. Maker werden, anders als der Taker, als eine Gruppe betrachtet. Also ein Maker kann unter Makern nicht identifiziert werden. Da ist das Problem nicht so schlimm. Beim Taker ist das ein Problem, da gibt ja nur einen.
Dadurch kann dann die Transaktionskette mit recht großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nachvollzogen werden. Also die coins von Alice können (wenn sie konsequent Taker ist) von TX_1 -> TX_2 -> TX_N mitverfolgt werden.
Sein Punkt ist schlussendlich, dass NUR die Maker ihr Anonymitäts-Set vergrößern und Taker NICHT. Es sind jedoch die Taker, die alles bezahlen. Sowohl die Mining fees und obendrauf noch die Maker für ihren “Dienst” bezahlen.

A video is not a hard thing I’d need, just said that because you mentioned it before. Technically I’m just interested in why would someone want to receive the physical coin. Let’s say I’m a merchant or for that matter anybody who I’m not affiliated with in anyway.
Does having the coin somehow guarantee that I can claw the fund from the LN server? Or is it just a gimmick and I’m overthinking?

Actually I don’t even know what ntag 213 is. I have not dabbled in physical transfers in Bitcoin yet. Only heard of opendime. So in my head I’m comparing the tradeoffs to that.
Why would I want to sign with the keys on the chip. The chip has its own key pair which is not related to the server right?

Thanks for elaborating. So if I understand correctly, the trust component is that the lightning server could rug you? What’s the key pair for?
Boltcards are connected to the lightning server as well. What’s the technical difference to the boltcard, as one wouldn’t use the bolt card as a physical way to exchange sats?
Or am I overthinking and it’s just meant to be used like a boltcard but the form factor is different?

**Dollar Hegemony, America’s Economic Demise – and *The Mandibles***
Gambling with the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency is little short of economic suicide. The tale in which the currency *bancor* becomes the new global money gives us a hint of how that might unfold.
The editorial team at *Dagens Næringsliv*, like so many others, searches in vain for logic in President Donald Trump’s economic policies. In many cases the aims and the means exclude one another. *Bancor* is the name John Maynard Keynes proposed for a supranational reserve currency at the Bretton Woods conference in 1944.
Naturally it is China, leading the BRICS nations, that controls the *bancor*—by then it has overtaken the United States as the world’s largest economy.
The book appeared in 2014, before Trump was on the political radar, and neither Trump nor MAGA is central to the plot. Yet with each passing day and every new U.S. economic initiative, the novel seems more prophetic. It is decidedly dystopian and reminds us that, although dollar hegemony has its downsides, abolishing it is not something we should wish for.
Global finance rests on U.S. government debt—and on the absence of doubt that America will honor that debt. Even the slightest doubt could trigger an economic catastrophe.
It is no secret that China and the BRICS countries are already working to avoid trading in dollars. That alone will weaken the dollar over time, whatever Trump does. The Trump administration hardly needs to accelerate the trend with peculiar policies.
Ironically, cryptocurrency may prove the dollar’s salvation. Not bitcoin, but *stablecoins*—cryptocurrencies designed to keep a fixed 1-to-1 peg to the U.S. dollar. The stablecoin *Tether*, issued by the company of the same name, is by far the largest of its kind, with tokens in circulation worth more than NOK 1.5 trillion. According to its own figures, Tether has over 400 million users, most of them in the Global South (Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America).

a couple updates from Satoshi Guard. Updated the Readme to ease people into the process to use the app.
You can now scan pubkeys with a QR code, this should make it easier to set up multisigs. Also QR-codes can be used to share PSBTs between clients. no longer copy-pasting of long text across messenger services.
