Current use of #LLM for text generation is weaponized Dunning-Kruger.
People holding only superficial knowledge of a domain have a machine that doesn’t understand the domain either but excretes a plausible (to them) compound of words, void of message, intention or meaning.
They are wasting the readers’ time, at best.
In reality they drown the literate world in a sea of crap while giving the middle finger to their reader and to anyone working in and writing about the domain at the same time.

I don’t think that it’s even necessary for the US to pull out of NATO. Trump1 mentioned that the US may not react if Russia invades a NATO member. That’s enough to damage the central promise of NATO. Voting for Trump2 is the end of it.
Unfortunately this means that Europe has to be able to defend itself by itself.
Unfortunately that that means giving even more money/power to the military industrial complex and to open the door for future military conflicts with the US.

“AI” marking #delve as evidence for cheating with “AI” is a strong reminder that “AI” still is nothing but “Autocorrect on steroids”.
Using “AI” to categorize human activity is a way of pressuring humans to behave in the way that has been defined by the corpus the LLM has been trained on.
The people subjected to this process have no say in the choice of corpus or in the training of the black box that will be used on them. (2/3)

Thanks, that’s an interesting perspective and a revealing incident.
Language evolves, and as with biology, the result varies for differing habitats. Since “#AI” that is based on #LLM is frozen in time by the corpus it was trained on, it only reproduces but never explores or invents. LLM are per definition conservative. (1/3)

What’s wrong with “delve”? It’s a perfectly fine and useful word.
But I’m not a native speaker of English, so what do I know?
The idea that the knowledge of the English language I acquired during 40 years is “inhuman” is not very reassuring.
There is hair that needs some pulling out but it is not OPs.

If this really is a picture of one of the pagers that exploded, it seems to be the model “Gold Apollo Rugged Pager AR924”:
The case does not seem burned or molten, that may be an indicator for an explosive and not a battery going off.

I will not look for more videos of these events but the one I’ve just seen shows none of the smoke and dirt that usually is part of a LiIon battery going off.
To me this looks like a modern explosive.

LiIon batteries can burn and “explode” quite violently so if there’s a way to remotely hack the devices’ firmware and if the batteries in the devices are cheap and don’t have any additional protection circuitry that makes them stay within safe parameters, I can imagine that there is a way to trigger an unsafe condition.
Many people tend to carry their pager in their trousers, close to the body, so a battery burning violently could do a lot of damage.

So Israel managed to distribute a ~1000 pagers with builtin explosives to Hezbollah? Sounds possibly very targeted but very difficult.
And they all use the same model, from the same single source and never open it to repair? OTOH people higher up in the hierarchy may use newer models, as a sign of their position. And if Israel had access to the metadata at least, they may be able to infer who is who.
Very interesting story.

Anhänger (und Fahr- und Lastenräder) kann man auch **bauen**. Bis vor kurzem war es durchaus noch üblich, nicht nur zu konsumieren, sondern am Fahrrad auch selbst zu schrauben.
Heute Höchstgewicht, ABS-Pflicht, TÜV , morgen Führerscheinpflicht und Profiltiefe von Straßenschuhen. Wer kein Auto hat, soll gefälligst zu Hause bleiben.
