Getting awfully crowded in my sky.
I know Matrix.org is protecting itself in the UK as that's where it's based. Age gating a chat server isn't right.

I think that with LLMs and generative AI, there's no creativity partly because there's no play.
When I write, I have fun, I play with words and with worlds.
When I paint, there's a play with what I mix and the strokes of the brush.
With code, the coder in my life creates and plays with that code
I get this sense that some AI folks never really got to play as an active creative thing to do. No make believe.
So of course they steal our work and copy it. They never got to do creative play.

She has a very specific idea of what counts as a woman and it's a fascist definition of womanhood. She dehumanised other cis women because they don't fit her definition of womanhood, she dehumanises Trans folks regularly.

When I started my journey in FOSS I came very much in on the Open Source side of the portmanteau.
I've moved over to the Free Software side. The organisations that represent our communities have let us down, badly.
As I said in mirror mirror:

So the thing to note about Tiananmen square outputs is bias.
Our datasets have bias. The way we program has the bias of our backgrounds and politics.
It's why the OSI open AI definition isn't worth the paper it's written on.
You need to examine what data it's been trained on.

I'm still stunned by the ICC having their evidence on Azure.
Public bodies need to have their own infrastructure. Especially when their storage is somewhere that serves shareholders and the country where they are incorporated.

I follow getonepass.eu on LinkedIn as it is the main gateway for EU funding. Every Research EU fund gets posted there now.
Just saw a comment from the account, praising a LinkedIn post about AI tools to help startups raise funding. They are going to add those GPT details to their startup tool kit.
When I talk about the EU focusing on creating Unicorns and chasing hype this is what I mean.
Shouldn't we be better than this? Shouldn't we not be using tools with built in bias?

When I was a toddler one of the families my Grandfather helped out of France visited my family.
They were close friends.
It's just so mind boggling that we still are in living memory of Fascism and it's still alive. It still thrives.
We relaxed too much, we allowed neo liberal policies to poison our minds.
To strive for the individual rather than solidarity with each other.
Care and give shelter when you can where you can. Grieve for the relationships you thought you had. Take the time.

I saw some toots last night, where supporters of Richard Stallman claim the Stallman report is false and character assassination. They claim to believe in evidence, yet choose not to read the report. Which is mostly complied from decades of Stallman's own words.
There's a concept called active ignorance, where you need not to know harm that's being done. This is how despite decades of Stallman being Stallman his supporters will not read the report.

The software we write and design can help or harm others. So it needs to be transparent, the code needs to be open and we try to design with those rights and freedoms from the beginning.
It's why I'm really concerned by the OSI diluting those ideas with the Open AI definition.
The training sets need to be accessible to everyone. You can't have an idea of why Open AI makes a decision, summarises a thing, recommends an action without those sets.

Stallman is consistent in his opinions about the minimisation of Sexual Assault and the erosion of consent.
No, not erosion, fully cognisant, enthusiastic consent doesn't factor in his writings.

I think with the corporate membership it's a very similar model to other foundations out there.
Which excludes many people, small business, small orgs, community collectives. You get the idea.
In what way will for example the members of NGI Zero have the funds to join? #NGIZERO fund many fediverse projects.
Will you allow various government open source offices to join? They are stake holders.
Us plebs on the ground here are stakeholders.
At least OIN allows everyone to join for free.
