I think such a chain split would be a nightmare for the Lightning Network. Statistically, ~50% of the channels would have to be between peers on different chains, which would then probably run into force closes. ~25% of the channels would remain on each respective chain and would continue to exist.

Most of it was a reference implementation in Go. I don't think the size of the prompt was the problem, but rather that I wanted too many features at once. I think I need to make a better phase plan. Then I'll try again with a cheaper model.

Today I threw a 2000-line prompt (with reference code) at Shakespeare using GPT Pro. It cost about $20 before I stopped.

I finally canceled my ChatGPT Plus subscription today. From now on, I will use a local Open WebUI for all AI chats and @nprofile…etsy as the backend.
Why?
- More privacy, as there is no personal account model.
- Local backup of chats and cross-device use possible.
I'm curious to see what this will do to the costs.

Eine Full-Node, die einen Mempool hat, und Transaktionen weiterleitet. Also quasi jede Full-Node im Standard.
Mempool kann aber deaktiviert werden, sodass nur für Blöcke validiert werden.

Was unterscheidet Routing Nodes von
1. Minern
2. Blockproduzenten in PoS Netzwerken
3. Mempool führenden Full-Nodes
Alle 3 könnten streng genommen auch als Money Transmitter deklariert werden, wenn "das System" es möchte.
Streng genommen könnten Routing-Nodes ohne 1. und 3. gar nicht funktionieren.

Yeah of course,
At first, it was a learning project, also to get more familiar with Golang.
I believe that for any information that is public anyway (e.g. Amboss), you should consider making it available on Nostr. Otherwise, you are always dependent on a central provider which can close its business.
In addition, as soon as there is a relevant network effect, you can also expand the project.
For example
- Automatic push notifications when a peer announces maintenance.
- Or the exchange of further information, e.g., about currently poorly maintained nodes in the network (with high latencies), which are then automatically excluded from pathfinding at other nodes.
The fundamental problem is always how to trust the information on Nostr if you cannot verify that it has actually created a lightning node.

Over the past few days, I have been experimenting with how to transfer structured information from Lightning nodes via Nostr so that the recipient can verify its authenticity.
The result is a small CLI tool that can be used to send and read certain metadata, such as that currently found on Amboss (contact information, minimum channel size, etc.), via Nostr. The idea is to first send a message signed by the Lightning node confirming the Nostr pubkey. The recipients then only accepts information that belongs to this pubkey.
However, the messages are not visible on Primal etc., but only with the cli, which verifies the authenticity of the sender.
The first node has started the network 🎉
