anybody out there have current favorites for minimal php mvc-ish frameworks? mostly i'm thinking of simple routing of stuff to controllers/actions, a little scaffolding for separating out views, that sort of thing.
(background: i know how to google, i used to maintain a bespoke one of these at work, i deploy mediawiki for a living. just haven't touched much php application code for a while and curious what people who're up to date think about the question these days.)

i guess i'm grateful for my clubhouse for nerds, but also think of public-by-default social media on the whole as such a doomed pattern that it seems like fedi's whole existence only works insofar as it's shielded by friction, relative unpopularity, and incomprehensibility from mainstream spaces. but i'm also sort of at a point where it's harder and harder not to be sincere in thinking the entire goddamn internet should be destroyed post haste, so what do i know.

sheaffer! the kind of cheap school pen that they made for decades. my mom had a couple from her 1960s school days and bought me a few more in the 90s that were pretty much the same pen, including one of those calligraphy sets with the different sized nibs.
these were a great place to start and i still have a couple of them. (i guess i feel like the preppy is the modern equivalent, and preferable because less likely to leak.)

i haven't revisited them in years, but i have such fond memories of all those books. they were staple reading in my extended family when i was a kid, growing up surrounded by farms and farm people, and i think they did a lot to form how i thought about human relationships with animals. going to have to see what the new series is like.

saw a mention of wallabag today, which comes up now and then but i'd never really given it serious consideration. the interface isn't perfect, but also i guess not immediately repugnant. it seems like it's written in php, which gives me more confidence in self-hosting than some things...

i am thinking seriously of getting the kind of canvas tent that has a stove jack for a little woodstove.
(this is not exactly a new thought, i'm just getting serious about it now.)
anyone out there have opinions about wall tents vs. the sort with a pole in the middle, or a make you like? some of our uses would be setting up for late-fall gatherings in the yard, which is pretty un-demanding, but others would very much be "it is wintertime cold and snowing in the mountains".
