Hi Chad, well frankly it does not really come up. The point being that I personally like monero and also have some, but here any developer who creates an app to convert local money into crypto and vice-versa concentrates on bitcoin for obvious reasons. Generally people here are not bitcoin or monero "literate" they do not really understand it until they see how it works. So here communities build circular economies based on bitcoin and nothing else and I think this is a good thing since in Africa the issue of privacy is not really perceived as in the west. Also consider that lightning is extremely private and no one spends directly bitcoin on-chain. So there is no practical need for the added privacy of Monero compared with the advantage given by network global scale, decentralization and capped supply. But I like Monero.👌 🇰🇪

Looks like the issue was using the tor browser. Which poses the question: do the relays somehow recognize tor browsers and somehow neutralize them so that one is forced not to use tor? Considering #nostr should be censorship resistant makes me think.🤔🤔🤔

Hello #nostr can pls someone help? We had issues on another #primal account with relays connections. In the settings tab the relays do not highlight green or red but remain grey. I have done "reset" relays a number of times but nothing happens. I have also lost some content/articles which I saved as a draft multiple times in the reads/articles only to discover that were not really saved and were lost. Also, when we scroll the Home/Latest feeds it does not update with new posts. What could be the problem? Will Zap who gives the solution. Thanks

Everyone we have on-boarded onto @nprofile…0vpk and any #bitcoin #lightning wallet such as @nprofile…9ral being the easiest option for beginners (though we advice to move early to self custodial @nprofile…r4yc ) is unconcerned about bitcoin price. They want to learn how to get paid in bitcoin and how to instantly convert into local currency they spend immediately. Here the need is to feed everyday the family. The western meme "numbers go up" or the store of value property is not the primary driver of bitcoin adoption. Here lightning and #tando remove the friction of fiat. Tried to provide some capital to a small business by sending an unbanked/unbankable person some #dollar or #euro in #africa? Indeed. WE increase adoption by using #bitcoin as money everyday while @nprofile…mhjz Strategy increases financialization of bitcoin. Of course Saylor does a great job for bitcoin as a store of value (and both are necessary) but without everyday use there is no adoption. Very true it is the daily use case and the frictionless operation of #bitcoin with different local digital cash app such as @nprofile…0vpk that makes it compelling. Think sending #bitcoin sats to a Masai Warrior in the middle of the Savana is not possible? Wrong. We did it at a Masai Mara tent camp while he was collecting cash donations with his tin-box. I asked If I could send him #bitcoin. He looked at me perplexed but then I asked “What about M-Pesa?” He smiled and said “yes yes, asante sana” and gave me his mobile number. I then opened up my Tando Kenya app which generated a bitcoin lightning invoice to my Phoenix Wallet. And in seconds my sats were automatically converted by #Tando into Kenyan Shillings and credited to the Masai M-Pesa mobile wallet.
Amazing, #Kenya is truly THE N. 1 bitcoin country. It is THE only country in the world where you can use #bitcoin #lightning to send sats to anyone. I never use any form of money in Kenya other than #bitcoin.
