A University of Michigan study suggests that the nitrile and latex gloves scientists commonly use could be causing microplastics levels to appear higher than they actually are.
Researchers found that these gloves can unintentionally transfer particles onto lab tools used to analyze air, water, and other environmental samples. The contamination comes from stearates, which are not plastics but can closely resemble them during testing. Because of this, scientists may be detecting particles that are not true microplastics. Michael Schur's The Good Place was a perfect meditation on the meaning of life by exploring the silliness of the afterlife (we make our own meaning by living, but we should think about what we owe to others as well as ourselves).
Michael Schur's Man on the Inside uses some of the same actors (Ted Danson, et al.) and also explores detective work in a unique way: by the investigators becoming friends with the suspects and working to help them as well as trying to solve the mystery. The first season was good but the second season was even better.

I haven't read that book, but honest people can be fooled. Many old-style cons relied on greed, but an honest, naïve person can be fooled using technology (voice and video tools) into thinking they are saving a loved one from a kidnapper or a jail (for example).

My daughter is a county clerk; she is in charge of handling elections for a large county in Michigan.
The FBI came in and told her to shut down all her social media, and if she couldn’t, to remove all references to family and change her name.
No one in her office is allowed to open any mail without gloves and a mask. They have armed security when they enter and leave the city building. They receive 2-3 letters a day filled with white powder (so far, flour or powdered sugar).
Please don’t think we’ve got this under control. There is LITERALLY a war going on, quietly, waged by domestic terrorists, to take away your right to have your voice heard.
