There's reason to look abroad. Always a bit ahead of the curve, so at least we get a rough idea of what's coming our way and - yeah - it doesn't look good. Increasingly scary, because we went through it once and - yepp - it took us a long time to rebuild and to this day, bombs are still being found during construction work occasionally, yet the general public won't really associate it with our current fascism any longer. We're very clever, aren't we. 🤡

I won't argue with that. It's just not overly helpful, because the fascists have their very own interpretation, often tied to Jews, shady leftists pulling the strings and whatnot. Da eben bin ich auch eher bei @npub1mj0…g6ky, denn es gibt nach Jahrzehnten neoliberaler Wurstelei und vielen gebrochenen Versprechen einfach auch sehr viel Frust im gemäßigten und vor allem linken Lager. Und genau damit haben die in den USA gegen Trump verloren. Mit „weiter wie gehabt“ holst Du irgendwann niemanden mehr hinter dem Ofen vor, speziell wenn „weiter so“ eben immer wieder neoliberale Scheiße bedeutet, inklusive gebrochener Wahlversprechen.

Admittedly, I don't react well to plain injustice and often get pretty enraged pretty fast whenever I see - say - cops torturing people for the “fun“ of it or because they indulge in racism or whatever, but all in all consider this a healthy reaction. How could we be civilized otherwise? Hell - even animals protect their kind and others if circumstances allow!

Honestly, I do “hate“, i.e. strongly reject quite a number of folks but won't ever thrive on it. To me and the genuine left at large, it's just disgusting slime getting in the way of better things, but at the core, it's still always those better things that define us and it's always just hate for the sake of hating what defines the fascists.

The difference is regular concerns as opposed to fascist “concerns“, but once you truely hate any minority groups the fascists like to step on there is rarely any walking back. Those who drop out usually just become less active and that's it.
Reminds me of Oliver Hilburger, who declared in person how his fascist career was long past, while still being networked like no other, pretending to be a union leader who will never go on strike if only for lack of funding.

To some extend - probably yes - as the higher distribution of AfD votes among the proles shows. Gripes with capitalism or “the establishment®“ as such won't straight up turn you fascist. The other caveat is: We're not the U.S. and we have an actual left addressing those issues *vastly* better. IMHO, there simply is no excuse whatsoever to vote for the fascists and frankly - we're long past excuses. The time when this was still just weird, supposedly “EU-sceptic“, i.e. hard nationalist professors is long behind us. They want everybody detained and deported they don't like and folks can't pretend they didn't know. That's what they voted for.

Mass protests over here in Germany yesterday and - yes - the one thing that *really* got under my aging white skin was two very friendly looking gals, both of 'em clearly *not* white, one of 'em calmly holding a banner stating how it's them and how they feel insecure by being targeted by all the anti-immigration shit the far right, the right and even the supposed "middle" are peddling.

Voting is the cheapest way to move the needle just a little, so why not do it? It's a bit more weird in two party systems, but even then you could still pick the lesser evil™, provided you don't pretend that's the solution and all you can do about politics, because that got us where we are.
That doesn't mean I like it. It's just one out of many options and *all* should be used IMHO - no matter how much you hate doing it. (We all do, don't we.)

Surely one can argue how voting is just empowering those you vote for, but it's always just playing pretend, because for as long as the system is in place it will happen either way and they will always be happy to claim it's x % out of 100% voters - instead of a mere fraction of x % out of 100% people of which many may not vote.

I guess voting is inevitable, even if it's just the lesser of evils you're voting for, but you can't just stop there. You'll have to join unions, activist groups, lobby for the little things locally - for short - you have to take politics as much into your own hands as you possibly can.

Weil diese Presse so unfassbar kaputt ist hier nochmal der freundliche Hinweis:
#Antriebswende ist #Energiewende und eben *keine* #Verkehrswende.
Merkt ihr spätestens bei Staus und Parkplatzsuche im E-Auto. Das kann der Antrieb unmöglich ändern. Das sollte auch nie jemand behaupten oder fordern. Das wäre Quatsch.
Braucht aber beides. Es abzulehnen hieße entweder die Verkehrs- oder die Energiewende abzulehnen. Ablehnung wäre in beiden Fällen fatal.
