UI:
slick, sharp and simple to navigate somewhat. I do think there's good art direction with the overall design. but could be more stripped down.
UX:
might be my expectations, but with such a sleek interface, you'd think the app would move faster. i'm not a tech aficionados, and even though i read the doc on Spark, I don't understand it enough to fully embrace it. what are tokens? why do I need them? feels unnecessary. like bloatware.
the gifts part is confusing too. is that ecash? I don't understand, and makes me hesitant.
the shops section, while potentially useful, feels like more bloat. for me, I want a wallet to just be a wallet. not an everything app.
the USD token part... I feel is asking for trouble down the regulation line. would rather it just be bitcoin only.
there's a lot of potential, but just my personal preference is a more simplified wallet. my everyday driver is ashigaru and blixt. just button down bitcoin wallets. cashu.me was an interesting and simple web wallet, but not understanding proofs and mints well enough keeps me at arms length.

bitcoin's storytelling problem...
i get it. been preaching it since 2020.
from the trenches—most bitcoin stories orbit the same three things: satoshi, the tech, the monetary system.
all important. all preachy.
when 100+ titles start with "satoshi's..." and 200+ more with "bitcoin..."—general audiences tune out. immediately.
story is a metaphor for life. it's how we convey meaning. it explores the human condition. the best stories are human. people overcoming conflict. personal. hopeful. fearful.
telling a story about a hammer isn't interesting.
telling a story about a person using a hammer—better.
telling a story about a person facing the harsh elements of winter, who just so happens to need a hammer or face his doom—now you have my attention.
if you want to tell a bitcoin story, don't talk about bitcoin.

She died with nothing. No note. No files. Just an encrypted message embedded in a transaction. A truth buried in the chain, but refuses to die.

notice how it doesn't mention bitcoin.
so why hasn't more bitcoin stuff been picked up?
film takes capital. no capital, no film. and capital comes with strings. expectations. returns.
even bitcoin-rich investors play the same game. different money. same rules.
art requires risk. real creative risk. the kind where you might fail. where the message matters more than the market.
investment demands safety. projections. metrics.
these two things fight each other.
so compromises creep in. vision gets diluted. the story becomes "content." the thing that made it dangerous—gets cut first.
maybe the question isn't _why hasn't more bitcoin stuff been picked up?_
maybe it's _can authentic art survive the investment model at all?_

noticing high engagement posts tend to be the most bombastic. bombastic in terms of reactionary. anger and fear, they sell.
i know it's my own feed. who i follow. good people. but seeing the 2nd and 3rd strings of individuals... not really vibing.
nostr is so much more.

Finished writing my first sci-fi novella. I'm use to writing scripts. Never manuscripts. Working on this story idea for some time. Came up with it in 2019 as a short film. Never got passed the storyboard phase. Ran out of money. Didn't want the story to fade. Took this year to rethink and work the concept. Started writing aggressively couple months ago.
Now it's finished.
Shared it with beta readers for feedback.
This is my "second" book.
My first book "Get on Bitcoin" is done. On the last edit.
Two books this year.
Looking at gathering all my short stories from @npub1un9…6nvl and compiling them into an anthology.
That'd be three books.
It's been a creative year.

The tide is going out. Leaving shells and debris on the sand.
"Mom's job situation?"
His face goes dark.
"They're shipping it overseas. AI's taking the rest. Forty years of experience. Means nothing now."
We sit in the quiet. Two men running out of safe ground.
"Dad?"
"Yeah?"
He looks at his hands. Working hands. Tired hands.
"Son, we can't retire."
The words hang between us like smoke. Everything we've been dancing around. Everything he's been trying not to say.
The market. The job. The sister. The uncle's bad advice. All of it leading here.
To this moment. This truth.
I want to fix it. Want to offer solutions. Want to give him some Bitcoin or a check.
But I don't.
The waitress brings the check. I reach for my wallet.

Talked to an old colleague today. We both been in "the industry" since 1999.
Said he tried reaching me through Facebook. I deleted my account in 2014. Said he tried to reach me via LinkedIn. I deleted that account in 2021.
We chatted for a bit. Catching up. Felt disconnected.
Reminded me of that one quote from The Sovereign Individual:
"The vag sits on the edge of the highway, broken, hungry. Overhead, flies a transcontinental plane filled with highly paid executives. The upper class has taken to the air, the lower class to the road, there is no longer any bond between them; they are two nations."
Not that I live an extravagant life... but the bonds that held us together are gone.

Just died.
