You may be able to build GNU findutils on Windows with VS2022/2026, ucrt/Windows SDK and bash from the Git distribution.
...however, bash ./configure takes minutes and minutes to run... on a Threadripper.
Comment out the following:

Coded an idea I've had for some time, not original but I haven't coded C# for years. Feels very comfortable. Don't use this, it hammers the shit out of servers as C# wants to use 4096 byte reads and I haven't worked out how to make it do anything better. https://gist.github.com/voltagex/b4c8c113c65b645a8207d3910344ab14
Is anyone reading this a C# expert? The only thing I can think of is keeping a bitmap (?) of retrieved segments and blocking on Read() until everything is downloaded - set my segment size to some fraction of the total filesize for faster downloads. Looks like physics is going to get in my way - most of what I am seeing is 12V 3.6+A which would be out of spec for 12V PD. I wonder if 20V 5A would do any better stepped up?
Back to custom boards again.
These APs are too expensive to cut open and wire 12V directly to (they're definitely stepping down to 12VDC internally!)

Look, I know that tech just doesn't work for me but I bought a new #Ubiquiti Wifi 7 AP and it's worse than the EOL Asus AX88U that it's replacing.
#AskFedi I have tried just about every brand of AP available to me. The #OpenWrt One couldn't do more than 400 megabit, EnGenius isn't sold here and TPLink (Omada) like to broadcast DE and US country codes in Australia.

If I have a 10 gigabit LAN and a 1 gigabit WAN, how do I stop the 1 gigabit router becoming a bottleneck? I haven't been able to get my head around multiple switches/routers - I guess that's because I've only started moving to managed switches recently.

Update: It's Hyper-V's virtual switch.
I run some VMs and this card was used to get VMs online.
Guess I need to find a different VM host - I've never been able to get Microsoft to fix bugs in Win10 or Win11 Hyper-V.
Why would an Intel (10GBe) and a Realtek (2.5) card have wildly different performance, but only on the Internet, not the LAN?
Same speedtest servers, Intel gets 1300 megabit down, Realtek gets 2000+
Router with Aquantia NIC gets 2000+ using Speedtest-CLI
Will need to boot this machine into Linux soon.

What are people doing for mobile phone service these days? I could barely make a call on Telstra (Boost) in the middle of Canberra. It renews in 3 days for $300/year. Can I do better?
Needs to work in Canberra and Narooma, advantage of Telstra is "unmetered" Apple Music but other than that I need about 10gb of data a month... but I never thought that calls working correctly would be the deciding factor.

I think it is such a shame that point to point wired networking over a gigabit is so rare. Thunderbolt and USB4 could be so good but they're only on newer and more expensive machines. It should be everywhere. I should be able to plug in a USB3 cable at 5 or 10 gigabit.
