For those of you that have read De Soto’s “The Mystery of Capital”
Today I found myself thinking about capital creation with content
It struck me how important Nostr is as a new technology, playing field, map, to adventure into
De Soto shows so well how private property rights are crucial to capital creation
He highlights the need for defined, accessible, and policed private property jurisdictions
His native Peru vs the US real estate markets are his comparison tools, which I really like
Essentially ex-communist and developing nations struggle to create capital due to poor management of private property rights
What if the same could be applied to traditional content platforms? I think it can…
Imagine building a shopping mall in a country that changes government, alters regulations, & steals your property

The same can be applied to building a YT channel, IG account, or X following. You can get banned at any time for “abusing community guidelines”

Point being, through the lens of De Soto, you need private property rights to be upheld to truly create, multiply, & preserve capital
Nostr is therefore the corner stone of a genuine digital capital creation strategy with content

Microstrategy in the US, & more recently Metaplanet in Japan, are 2 publicly traded companies that have seen huge equity value upside due to adopting Bitcoin
As regulated companies on stock exchanges they have a number of financing tools at their disposal that is retail investors don’t have
How cheap can you borrow money? Bet it’s not as cheap as either company. Both can then go & buy Bitcoin, to keep on the balance sheet
As an Aussie resident, I wonder who will be the first to try this on the ASX?

Not the massaged supposed cost of capital as shown by government debt markets
This means you have to ask “why do I own what I own?” when looking at your portfolio
If your asset is purely a financial play & it doesn’t have the ability to outpace Bitcoin then SELL

A company needs looking after, as does real estate, so tradfi requires someone to always be alert
Indeed you can outsource to some degree, but then you have to trust someone

The point is to ask the right questions.
If Bitcoin & Nostr do anything, it’s the ability to get some space, & re-consider the status quo
I particularly like “don’t trust, verify” in this sense. Try things for yourself. Do they improve your life? Or not?
No doubt that simply accepting big tech, big pharma, big government, as always being right, ignored incentive miss-alignment

Without doubt, ownership of land is crucial to any citadel concept, in spite of how flimsy property rights may have proven to be in certain places
Also I like the idea of making the screening more difficult. An investment group is a good start
@npub1jmy…6xcq was very insightful talking about this in relation to a property in Australia, in particular to the opportunity cost of land vs more BTC
So a group willing to forgo BTC to buy land lowers the risk for each investor in a sense
Plus yes, the idea of trading directly between specialised operations makes lots of sense

So the chances of valuable exchange is far higher over the life time value

Been loving the “most zapped in 4 hours” browsing option in @npub12vk…pugg
What’s so fascinating is that often a post I interacted with is at the top
Spraying around 1000 sats (0.60$ aud) means that the note makes that category
1 - we’re so bloody early on this thing
2 - imagine what it will be like when the most zapped note is getting 10x that value (or 100x)
3 - it will be like a live ticker on the most valuable digital information globally
4 - instead of an algorithm catering content to my “attention” it is sound money payments
Really is mind-blowing the more I use and interact with Nostr

2 health related rabbit holes I’ve been forced down recently
- EMF exposure
- Mould exposure
The house we’re currently in has unsafe levels of both, having a) been sick for months and not knowing why, and b) done rigorous testing with consultants to find the cause
Embarrassingly I told my wife “it’s all in your head” a few weeks back, when trying to figure out what the problem we all had was (which was how I felt, but didn’t go down all the well…)
Interestingly, both EMF and Mould can be managed with a bunch of solutions, all of which I am learning about for the first time
Never underestimate the intuition of your wife! (Lesson learned… again… 😅)

Not only that, they can self-custody using a “self-managed superfund”
