Passive income, by itself, is fine. Passive income rooted in being an employer or landlord is the problematic part of #capitalism. Appropriating 100% of the fruits of other people’s labor is illegitimate. Workers renting out the product of their labor to other groups of workers is another morally legitimate way for workers to exchange their labor’s products. Renting out capital is selling a segment of the capital’s services, which is as legitimate as selling all future capital services.
The concept of "passive income" in our capitalist society is a curse. The whole idea that simply having wealth makes more wealth without having to do anything at all is rotten at the very core.

Oh sure, my savings are in interest bearing accounts and funds and such. But it's still the toxic concept that allows for billionaires to exist.
