Not this bad, although I should have. But, I thought there would be at least some attempt to stop or push back against this. But the Dems would rather just let the other side drive us off a cliff so they can come back and say "you better vote for us, or else he'll do more." If everyone just took a small step in your community in this direction, the effect would be enormous.
Example: about 7 years ago I decided to turn one unused room in my office into a free clothes store. Anyone could come in and get clothing. No requirements, no questions, no forms to fill out. It kept growing. Soon it was two rooms, then three, then I had to move my office so that the store could be in a large retail space (my office was in the storage room). I had to hand that off after I closed my office because I was burned out on law, but now it is in a former factory space.
This spurred a mutual aid movement in my small rural Southern conservative town. We now have community refrigerators where anyone can get food at any time. We have the beginnings of a farm co-op grocery where people pay what they can for the fresh groceries. After the hurricane, there was a huge outpouring of mutual aid in our community and throughout Western North Carolina.
If someone in every community started a mutual aid program, it will take hold. And people will participate in it not knowing that it is in reality anarchism in action.

Well, I made this, so yeah. Lol. I have gone through a process of radicalization throughout my life, moving further and further left the older I got. 2016 is what pushed me into anarchism.
It's funny that my reaction to the 2016 Trump win and the 2024 Trump win are so different. In 2016, I had just come out the year before, and I was shocked that Trump could get elected. I had been moving toward seeing the US and capitalism in general as a fundamentally rigged system in which all value flows upward and in which the vast majority of people can never succeed or get ahead. Trump nudged me that last inch into anarchism. But I went to it out of fear.
In 2024, I'm not afraid. I know what to do. I've been organizing and doing major mutual aid work for 8 years. I've educated myself and been educated by others. I know what needs to be done and know that we can get through this. But we have to stop looking to do called leaders. We can do this ourselves. As people start relying on each other and see that free association and free exchange of ideas, talents, and goods can build strong and safe communities, they will be less reliant on the whims and prejudices of politicians and capitalist society.
