what's insane is we DID have paper containers years ago. Milk Cartons used to come with wax lining. They switched to plastics in the early 80s because it was more economic. So... paper "bottles" are a thing, it's just that we as a society have become too stupid to remember how we did it.

They've worked in linux for a loooong time. The very first HTPC I built was a mythTV box, and having deep air mouse MCE remote integration was a selling point. I saw a demonstration of a "home of the future" running mythTV using the gyration MCE remote and HAD to build something like it. What a cool machine that was. You could pop a DVD into it and it had a full ten-foot UI for ripping the DVD right from your remote. We're talking like 2003 here.

#Windows keeps taking L's. #AMD announces that they are ending driver support for RDNA1 and RDNA2. Obviously, this only affects windows, because in glorious #linux land, AMD #drivers are #opensource. Meaning the concept of "ending support" for such a card in linux literally does not exist.
Between this and #Windows11 hardware limitations, it's obvious that using Windows is a ticking time bomb. It's not YOU who decides when EOL, it's #Mircorost.

Also, just a general tip if you aren't already using it: Install the Augmented Steam extension in your webbrowser, and start visiting the steam store from your webbrowser instead of steam itself. This will add price comparisons with off-steam stores that also sell steam keys:

People surprised that #Sonic3 lapped #Mufasa apparently are too young to remember when #SonicTheHedgehog was more popular than any #disney brand period, including #MickeyMouse. A poll in 1993 -- the year they named a freaking GENE after Sonic -- found that Sonic was more recognizable to children than Mickey Mouse or Super #Mario Bros.
