There has been a push for a while to get you off the ward as soon as possible. It's quote shocking how short hospital stays are now.. I was told 5 days for a kidney transplant (20 years ago that would have been a couple of months).

So what did *absolutely everyone* then say they did? Because it suits the agenda. The plan was always to ostracize trans people. The ruling was just the excuse.

There's a belief in a decent proportion of the population that poverty doesn't really exist.. it's just bad money management which is where they 'they all have sky' argument comes from.
Unfortunately that's where a lot of the worst political policies come from as well.

You have to use a lot of ads to make any money these days. Apparently YouTube makes about $1 a year per user even with its blanket intrusive ads

But in that case.. why burden themselves with a massive debt for the logo (plus ~25k a year to maintain the trademark) rather than just launch the product, if it's going to be that profitable.
I can't believe the commodore name is influential enough in 2025 to turn an average product into a bestseller.

It's just an excuse to be nasty to a group of people they don't like. And the press have jumped on the ruling with things that are not true* to stir up hatred because they see it as a green light.

Unless they tackle the disparity in travel costs in term time the 'fines' are still going to be less than the price difference. This was inevitable when they started treating term time holidays as absence (it used to be considered normal) and is effectively a subsidy to the travel industry.

I'm surprised working from home hasn't caused a greater spread, as people aren't constrained to lunchtime any more.

Robots to replace manual work, fine.. I just loaded the dishwasher, I can relate. But replace *people*? WHY? We literally have a society that spends trillions inventing new ways for people to interact and these maroons think it'll be popular to do the opposite.

Despite the rhetoric of it being good for 'savers' both my savings accounts have this month reduced interest rates.
The mortgage interest rate has stayed high..
So it seems the interest rate moves in the direction of whatever is best for bank profits.

It's interesting that javascript is able to put data in the clipboard without there being corresponding ctrl+c.
What does it paste? Even on windows there's powershell vs cmd to deal with and a limit to what you can do without elevation.

To build it will need a lot of people, temporarily (14k still seems high) but it doesn't really take a lot to run a data centre.

It's always fascinated me that large networks take so long to deal with that stuff. My disaster recovery plan for such an event is to shut everything down and reimage/recover the backups.. obviously spend a bit of time first to find out how they got in but not *too* much because people gotta work.
Clearly there's a reason it takes that long, it's just outside my experience.
