🔥🔥 September 2024 was a very warm month in the Contiguous U.S. According to the Prism dataset, it was the warmest September for large areas of the western and north central U.S. and for the southern half of Florida. Overall, Prism has this as the 2nd warmest September (1998). @npub1ygf…tutr

It looks like there may be a handful of 90F temps at 71F north in Russia and 1 in Norway.

Looking at all daily observations in the GHCN-D database globally, this 89°F (31.7°C) reading *may be* the warmest temperature ever recorded north of 70°N. The U.S. and Canada data are pretty robust and there is clearly nothing this warm, but Russian data is not great. @npub1ygf…tutr

Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks, Alaska, all had over 4" of precipitation in July 2024. This is the first month on record where all three stations had over 4". (1943-present. Note: I threaded PAMR with PANC for the Anchorage portion of the analysis). @npub1ygf…tutr
