@nprofile…ryua I did do some training for the advanced test (I didn't quite pass, twice, because driving under pressure for 90 minutes).
So I know I am a reasonably good driver. And my instructor did say I started pretty well, and was up to the standard just about.
But that is becasue I wanted to see how good I was, and how I could improve my driving. Not because I made the assumptions that I was some sort of perfect driver.

And it is because, I think, they want to return to a world where the church is as respected as it is in the period dramas they watch.
It never was. It was feared. There was coercion. And - critically - the church lost any respect it had because of being abusive and coercive - all of the things that these people want back.
I that principle applies much wider. People seeking a world that they have seen, where they are in the top 5%.

@nprofile…ryua Not always been the case, IMO. I think there are probably all sorts of reasons - maybe as politics has become more divisive, good people have not wanted to be involved. And the public scrutiny has become vicious. It is not a good role for people with passion and feeling - like Mhari Black found.
But also, those who do get to the top are weaker and less confident, so are less likely to promote good people. That is a failure of leadership in many areas.
Society is not kind to people in the public eye, if they want to actually do anything. So people find roles that are less in the public eye.

The thing about the Leadership of the Labour Party is that they are struggling to find one person with the right skills to lead.
Of course, a strong government needs more than one person. They need, at least 3 others - for the great offices - these should be people who could also be PM. And maybe 6 more for the senior cabinet posts - people who may one day be capable of being PM.
And the core problem with our politics. There are not enough MPs in the whole of Parliament with real leadership skills or even potential to fill these roles.
That is pretty terrible for a nation that claims ot be the "Mother of Parliaments".

Companies will stop investing, if the value is not just based on how well the market or the specific company does, but on the whims on the President, they cannot have any way of financial planning.
I mean, I suspect this is already happening, but the more they scam the markets, the more investors will withdraw.
And probably invest in China instead.

The fact that every elected member of Reform seems to be thicker than Pig Shit (with apologies to Pigs and Pig Shit) is sort of the point, that so many seem to miss, see to misunderstand.
The Party has never been about forming a new party, similar to so many other parties with all sorts of people working across the country.
It is a Farage party. It is all about giving him numbers to pretend that he has a lot of support. But they are just minions, just about numbers. It is all about giving him power to do what the Fuck he wants.
Not only is that appaling in itself, it has really bad historical precedents. Especially as Farage will destroy this country.

I am getting heartily sick of the neediness of business. "Please give us feedback". "Tell us how we did".
I have no idea how good this product I bought a week ago is - it will take a month or more to know.
If my vets visit was not acceptable, I would have said at the time. Not in an anonymous questionnaire later.
I am not constantly recommending things to my friends. They are not constantly asking. If they ask, I will tell them the truth. But there are probably a lot of variables to account for.
You will know if I was satisfied if and when there is a repeat order. The end.

Something that is more and more of a problem, because there are so few places left where you can get a decent view of the sky because of ground pollution, and are accessible, so that amateurs and kids and families can actually see the sky as it really is, and get excited about astronomy.
But even these places are now being polluted by LEO satellites.

So, just for clarity, Reform has pretty well unlimited money (funded from overseas mostly, shady donations, vastly wealthy bribers), has much of the media spouting their message whatever it is, and has their own TV station GBeebies), as well as the BBC promoting them and their ideas through out their "news" services.
And they still lost a by-election to the Greens. Who are incredibly impoverished by political party standards.
Maybe, they should be dismissed as a minor trivial party that they are.

@nprofile…gk57 Interesting - mine was very much establishing the usual norms. Mainly because that was the established society I was in. But also, accepting of people as they are.
It means that I have had to learn so much - about what accepting people as they are really means.
But my lesson today is - it is entirely possible to relearn your understanding. Especially if you start from an acceptance of people as they are. And don't get blinded by their class or their money.

#Writers - to anyone else - what do you do with your upcoming ideas?
At the moment, i have 3 pieces of writing I am working on - this is generally a good thing for me, because I am in different stages with each one, and they are quite different. But I also have another 4 pieces I know I want to write.
And the last think I want to do it have 7 pieces at once - I am only a part time writer, having a 4-days a week job. So what do I do with these? Or rather- how do other people cope with things they know they want to write (or create or whatever), but may be years before they have a chance to start on some of them.
