@nprofile…74gf When introducing a new member to a team, I sometimes ask them to write Characterization tests (even if they already exist) as a way to get them familiar with sections of the codebase.

I did play around with Arch a few years back ("few", nearer 15 ahem), but I was lacking confidence/experience in Linux and went Mint. I'm scripting my entire build so in theory it should be easyish/er to then apply to a base Arch install.

@nprofile…74gf Been looking at your blog posts and toots here, interesting journy, I've been on Mint+XFCE for over a decade and now moving on, gone for Openbox on Mint but starting to consider now Arch, and perhaps i3, great to learn from your experiences.

@nprofile…74gf I saw it mentioned but have dropped back to sublime for the timebeing, because - well, life's too short and all that and I've got files to edit!
But is that a hard recommend ?!

Finally ditched vscode, it was nice while it lasted but really that frog was overdone a while ago. It was always on the cards; microsoft cannot touch anything without it ultimately turning to shite.

Shame to hear about Fosstodon, came as a bit of a shock to me because I've always found it very friendly and polite here. But then I guess that might be because I follow nice people :)
(and don't really browse beyond my feed)
