As a kid adult I knew in blue collar needed some kind of major surgery before they were 40. Disks, joints, veins, clots, kidneys etc. Not taking care of your body comes with the work too. You have to be very disciplined to eat well, sleep well, and stay healthy. A family member was a tech until early 30s, both of his knees are gone, a wrist and his lower back. A couple others have some fused vertibre, brain damage (in one case) missing fingers the list goes on lol.
Theses guys are on 1000mg of nicotine/day. Tripple that in caffeine, sugar and whatever else they can throw in just to get 5000 cals/day in.

I think the hardest part is they fall victim to poor financial habits too, not realizing they're going to wear their bodies out before they ever have a chance to retire, if they live long enough to. Not one man on a whole side of my family lived long enough to retire. Some of them knew that, many don't.
