I’ve been praying for you, walker and baby because I know there are many tough months left ahead.
I recognize your toughness, but also get saying that creates a dissonance when you don’t feel it. But you don’t need to feel it, you just are it. You embody it. And that’s why it’s easy for everyone to see.
There’s this poem I like by Lucille Clifton that ends “come celebrate
with me that everyday
something has tried to kill me
and has failed.”
You’re alive and your child is alive and sometimes just surviving is the strongest there is to do.
