I've been telling people that zucchini is the gateway to socialism. Growing food naturally leads to sharing surplus and trading ingredients and help. Cooperating around food is such a core human activity, I think it's really instinctive. We've been alienated from that and each other for a long time.

The system is going to do everything it can-- including, no doubt, intentionally poisoning large swaths of land-- to keep us desperate and divided. It's high time to get involved in community supported agriculture and push in the better direction.
