Texas is the test ground for shitty Republican tactics, and "trans people are committing identity fraud" is a key Republican talking point, with the aim to eventually make changes to one's identity be a felony. As I've said before, this and bathroom bills are the plan to mass incarcerate trans people, detransition, and/or remove them from public life.
