I'm putting together a list of reasons why people might want to try Mastodon (feedback welcome):
1. You don’t want to see ads
2. You want more control of what you see
3. You don’t want your social media platform to change at the whim of an unpredictable billionaire
4. You prefer your social media experience to be informative vs. performative
5. You have trouble building a following on other social media platforms
6. You feel like the quality of discourse and civility has degraded elsewhere
