"content": "Gorf was conceived as an alternative to Gab, thus the name - \"frog backwards\". The boomer who made it was planning to build his own ecosystem, complete with a streaming service, a video hosting, a news website, and a payment processor. He probably learned about the fediverse when people joined it instead of his website (yet another dogshit twitter clone for boomers) during one of the 2021-2022 twitter ban waves and gab exoduses, so he launched gorf.pub, a pleroma instance that federated, but didn't like not being able to control the network, so he created a bunch of alt accounts on other instances to shill gorf.com. At the same time, he was posting memes promoting gorf on gorf, to an audience of himself alone.
