Unfortunately, DMs are precisely what caused all of this. My interactions with Franny were private, which means there was no one there to witness it, which means everything became about hearsay.
Likewise, DMs is where Chester was able to lie to me for months and try to get me to self-incriminate while he plotted against me for issues he wouldn’t even raise with me to understand if he was justified.
DMs are a privilege that most consistently fail to earn. If you can’t discuss these things with me publicly, then I assume it’s because you’re afraid of others seeing what you say. If you’re afraid of others seeing what you say, it’s because you’re being two faced (which most do without even realizing it, it just manifests as anxiety and fear of saying certain things).
Anything that can said to me in private can be said to me in public. Exceptions are only for those I am collaborating with on actual secretive projects that have to be kept secret, or when communication is completely necessary but someone just refuses to do so in public for whatever reason.
