Where I have found it useful is for HTML and CSS. Visual stuff. Because you can instantly validate it as correct or incorrect. There's very little chance of subtle bugs. Very little chance of semantic errors (you'd spot them immediately anyway).
So... they made a billion dollar HTML machine... cool.
