I'm not sure what you mean about "too much power for lithium ion batteries to make sense?"
I have three 5kWh lithium ion batteries. they're great because you don't have to worry about drawing them down to 20%. which you absolutely do NOT want to do with lead acid
you should keep lead acid above 60%. so if you're using 720Wh, I'd get at least 2 KWH worth of storage.
