Correct, it has nothing to do with air gapping. SCIF would be more like air gapping. This is logical separation versus physical separation.
Think of it as a way of organizing your network. Certain devices go on certain networks. (In my case, IoT devices versus laptops and desktops.) And diffrent networks have diffrent permissions within your wider home network.
Networking has a lot of layers......like onions. 😁
