Last night I saved the house from burning down. My partner, who is a bit ADHD, had steamed some dumplings and afterward threw a dishtowel on the stove ring she'd been cooking on. I happened to walk into the kitchen several minutes later, exactly at the moment that the smoldering towel burst into flames. There happened to be a cardboard box on the counter right beside the stove, which was right underneath the upper cabinets, so we could have had a bad fire.
