They limit our options to only those they provide as they denigrate any alternatives (e.g. "communes are cults"; "socialists are evil"). The 20th century saw a consolidation of this, especially in America, as the supremacists used a natural fear of change and "the other" to foster a culture of deep racial, gender, and cultural divides that haunts us to this day.
They divide us in order to conquer us.
When we band together, they cower in fear.
