It seems like your POV is, “podcasters should be certain the assets they provide will be displayed well in all the apps,” and the strategy to achieve that is to rally podcasters behind a small number of purposes. Then, focus on convincing apps to support those use cases. IMO, this strategy is doomed because it requires widespread adoption before the apps become interested.
