I think fast fashion might be an example of festering mass production.
Mass produced code, which is the vast majority code, is built by people under pressure to work faster, by people they don't know or even don't like. Their best route to higher income is to change job. Many of these developers became developers to have a safe, higher income jobs.
They're see as huge cost centres by their employers, distrusted and undervalued.
Imho This is why AI is taking root in corporate tech
