I'm risking being the "it's the jews" guy for a sec over a throwaway reddit comment--and likely about shit you guys already know--I just found it amusing to see here. Look at this:

I don't know of any Christian denomination that does this, except some "Messianic Jews"--but it is practice among jews to write "G-d" or "Hashem" (meaning "The Name") because writing "God" is so so bad scary guys
