and hacks which are not incorporated into official Mastodon release are not really worth it (even increasing video limit size was overwritten after last upgrade, I wonder that status length limit survives)

Fedi is cool but it forces us to use it certain way. I hope for more diversity and not just for mimicking old corporate style of content presentation forever.
