I think the true problem with this movie is going to be the Orientalism of it all & the problems arising from the idea of the Odyssey as a part of the "Western" canon of classical literature.
That's where the movie is likely to be more than just annoying.
But...
Can I be honest? The movie gremlin in me would love to see it have amazing costumes at least. Some yummy, yummy "eye protein" as Guillermo would say.
