There’s a really interesting tension between two of the things you mentioned wrt the ColdCard situation.
1. The chain is public and people are tracking the stolen bitcoin.
2. Bitcoin is ideally an uncensorable bearer asset.
From 1, we want the thief to be caught and the victims to be made whole.
From 2, we want the thief to be able to get away with it.
