I'm coming across as if I'm slagging the show and maybe I was on a kneejerk level but on the other hand it got a lot of things right:
One, the internet sucks right now (and I'm glad they went there unlike the SVT shows who have been like "attempts to reduce screentime are bad and silly") and two, that is the fault of unregulated capitalism. Yes and yes!
They were also saying Masto is better than Blue Sky which I think might be true but I dunno. I appreciated hearing that.
They were also: books, cinema, and go outside! Which on the one hand is what I've also been spending most of my time on lately (along with boardgames and retro video games) but on the other hand it's kind of sad for two reasons:
1. Cinema and books are less indie than web pages. Yeah yeah there are plenty of great books written by one person but movies, especially the ones that make it to cinema, less so. And even books are gatekept, most of the ones that make it big at least.
2. This is still escapism and pastimes. [I'm not sure books are that much better than internet.][Insbatmbti] I've been really really unwilling/unable to actually *do* things. [To *work* on the things that really matter][Totttrm].
But I can't complain as much about this third point since that's where I'm also currently at in my own anti-internet journey.
