I'm listening to the radio right now and I turned it on in the middle of a show and they're talking about Cory Doctorow (npub1fdr…lvhs) 's book and a guy is like "oh but RSS apps are super easy" and I'm like what?! I've been using RSS for decades and I'm still struggling with `parser error : xmlParseCharRef: invalid xmlChar value 0` and then the other people on the show are like "okay some parts of internet that are still good include Reddit and proprietary newsletter sending sites" (wtf!? Reddit is not okay!) And now they're extolling Discogs and Bokbörsen. Silo sites that just happen to still be good coincidentally.
Getting RSS to work is so difficult. 😑 Finding the feeds is the main problem (let alone creating the feeds through scraping).
Yes, RSS/Atom is super great and is the solution but it's really difficult to set up!
