Most likely Starmer would not U turn and support PR no matter how bad his polling numbers looked. Labour are entrenched in the idea of being The One Opposition when they’re not in power. They won’t give that up. Thirdly, did it work in France? Yes, they stopped a far fight majority but haven’t got anything even vaguely resembling a progressive government. There are always calls for progressives to put aside their differences to fight the right. 2/
