Part of me thinks they wouldn't attack it if it wasn't a threat. Then part of me wonders if this is the equivalent of: "Whatever you do, don't throw me in that briar patch!"
Those of us who joined Gab pre-2019 remember some of the de-platforming tactics used to take them offline. App store bans, pulling domains, payment processing, hosting services, fediverse blocklists, services that I don't even really understand, like Cloudflare. It seems like a lot of folks in the bitcoin community are uncomfortably reliant on some of those things.
I don't understand enough about this stuff to suggest alternatives. I just get the feeling that maybe people are building houses on sand instead of on solid rock.
