Unfortunately, Appimages can still fail to run due to library issues. Flatpaks can be better, but still can have issues. Even more to the point, installing any of these (or Snaps for that matter) on a system with an already installed native version of Chrome would have unpredictable implications in terms of the data already stored with the browser. It gets complicated very quickly.
